California RSOL’s Meeting will take place on May 17 at 10 am in Berkeley. The location is Fellowship of Unitarian Universalists, 1606 Bonita Avenue, Berkeley, CA 94709.
The meeting will cover general topics of interest, as well as specific issues pertinent at meeting time, in addition to offering invaluable opportunities to network with others affected by this issue, as well as activists and professionals. One topic of discussion will be the series of lawsuits filed throughout the state against municipal ordinances that prohibit registrants to enter public parks and other recreation areas.
We welcome registrants, friends and family and other supporters to attend. The meeting is off-limits to media and government officials in order to ensure everyone’s privacy. There is no charge to attend.
Come join us on May 17 – Show up, Stand up, Speak up!
I’ll be there
I’m looking forward to seeing you there, if I can make it I will!
I will be there. That’s a guarantee at this point.
Yeah, you are in my neck of the woods. I will be there!
I will be there the weekend before. I am moving to Berkeley to attend school this fall. I’m hoping that I can get more involved as I am a RSO. I applaud you for your work and there are those of us that are reformed and want to make a difference. I am pursuing a social welfare undergraduate degree, but am considering social policy as my masters thanks to your organization.
I am looking for housing in Berkeley as I am transferring to school there. Can anyone provide any leads on safe housing for a RSO? Honest, dependable, and always pay bills on time. Sorry to use this platform, but I am nervous about moving up there. I’m considering campus housing, just not sure how it will be handled. Any leads will be great.
I would love to be there but unfortunately, I am disabled and on a VERY low income. I just cannot afford more than basic necessities at this point. My son is now in Federal prison for 8 1/2 years. He downloaded some music and a movie, found pornography on it. He told me what he found and we decided it was best to notify the FBI – an email was sent to them and my son was arrested the next morning. He has never had even a traffic ticket, has an honorable discharge from the USMC and a 40% service-connected disability. We could not afford an attorney to properly defend him so he was forced to accept a plea with the threat of 20 years if he insisted on a trial. He was told by the Federal prosecutor they don’t want the courts clogged so take the plea or take more years in custody. So much for a “fair” shake, isn’t it? I thought everyone was suppose to have the same opportunities, but apparently only those who can afford an expensive attorney get a fair shake.
I will be there along with another fellow registered citizen and 3 family members. Hopefully another one or two from the therapy group I used to attend. Thanks for coming up to Northern CA!
I suggest you balance somewhat the times you meet. It seems that all of your meetings happen at ten in the morning. Were it in the late afternoon or the evening (even better), I would attend.
Would it be possible to get a ride from BART (either downtown or No. Berkeley? There will be 2 of us.
Does anyone know when the next meeting in Los Angeles will be?
I will try my best to be there . It is a little far from home.
The meeting was very helpful and inspiring. Janice and everyone involved – Thanks so much!
Unfortunately, I was unable to attend as I had planned as preparation for an upcoming expungement hear took precedence. I hope to be able to attend the next meeting
So sorry I missed this. When will the next one be?
